The all-new Verna is now in its fifth generation and it has received an all-round job. The new sedan is based on a new platform that is called K2. Visually, the Verna receives a lot of changes giving it a fresh look. The car gets the Fluidic 2.0 design sculpture, something that makes it look similar to the elder sibling – Elantra.
Among the main design bits are a massive trapezoidal grille with chrome slats and border. The headlamps have been updated too and now they come with projector lamps and LED daytime running lamps. The bumper gets aggressive looks with air vent slats in it. The fog lamps have been placed in the bumper itself.
The new Verna gets 16-inch wheels with the top-spec variant running on diamond cut alloy wheels. The overall shape from the side remains similar to the outgoing model. At the rear, the Verna looks similar to Elantra and gets similar looking sleek LED taillamps with a boot integrated spoiler.

Hyundai has always stayed ahead in the game when it comes to the features. Hyundai has introduced a few segment first features with the all-new Verna too. The two segment-first features are the ventilated front seats and an anti-microbial coating called EcoAir on the AC evaporator (this eliminates bad odour from the AC as the car ages).
Other than that, the new Verna gets a new dual tone dashboard with chrome inserts around the air-conditioning vents. The new Verna also gets engine start/stop button. There is a twin pod instrument cluster with a MID in between. The car also gets automatic climate control, cruise control, automatic headlamps, sunroof, and rear parking sensors.
The new Verna also gets 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The lower version of the vehicle gets 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The top end variants get 6 airbags with side and curtain airbags. All other variants will get dual airbags and ABS as standard. The sedan gets front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
ENGINE...
Hyundai has dropped the 1.4-litre engine options and the all-new Verna only gets 1.6-litre engine options for both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol engine churns out a maximum power of 122 Bhp and produces 155 Nm of torque. The diesel engine produces 126 Bhp – 260 Nm.
Both motors gets a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The petrol engine gets an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 17.7 Kmpl while the diesel goes much farther with 24.75 Kmpl. Hyundai has also updated the suspension system of the vehicle, making it more stable at speed.

  1. Hi, Maintenance cost is average but hyundai verna mileage is incredible. Although, for the mileage, I think Hyundai Verna is good because I travel long distances with minimum fuel consumption.
